A black kite perches on the heights of a building before making it’s way back to its nest during a rather chilly evening in Mumbai.
As imposing as they can get, these birds of prey hold a special place in my heart. They may look intimidating for most but a few experiences with them and one will realize that they are just as fun, silly, mysterious and amazing like any other creature in the animal kingdom. They too have their sets of victories, failures, challenges and finally that one thing that really binds us all together – the ultimate cycle of life and death.
To witness such a majestic being in a fragile state would be a rather heartbreaking sight. But the final moments it flies through its last days, with wounds and holes over its once majestic body, with the same pride and honor that it always carried along is one sight to witness and remember.
When epic scares for Friday the 13th show up right at the start of the day, even in broad daylight!
This bud was pretty creepy not only for his ‘costume and gear’ but also for the fact that he managed to stalk me with his million little eyes for 20-odd minutes till I finally laid my sight on him!

Lunch time for the Rhesus Macaques today just above my head at the parking. These guys seemed so busy making lunch that all my attempts to agitate them went in vain.
The sun rays pass filtered through what I like to call the ‘Sacred Groves’. Just be there at anytime of the day of night and they will cast a spell on you. I am glad that they stand there just as they did ever since, but till when would they is the question….
The perfect sight to start a day!

These monkeys have made the terraces of the buildings at Western Sector their home at Anushaktinagar. This comes after several incidents on the hill which displaced them making them to seek refuge else where
