2nd August 2016 – Day 215 of 366

Tourists at the Kavela Dam
This was the sight at the over flowing flood gates at the Kavela Dam. I couldn’t understand how people could be so foolish to risk their lives by sitting and enjoy right below the floodgates. It was raining heavily and the water was overflowing at a dangerous pace. Had there been a sudden burst of water, the joy ride for all these people would end there. The place was overcrowded with people who were standing close to the dangerous current of the water at the floodgates as well as downstream. They also had littered the whole area with plastics. It is much shame and sorrow to see such beautiful elements of nature are being steadily destroyed by man whose senseless drive for fun, comfort and convenience will ultimately make him pay heavily
