22nd April 2016 – Day 113 of 366

Dead hills at Uran

The severely defaced and destroyed hillock at Uran was something that caught my eyes today, as from the Kharghar hills. Though I had toured this area a bit sometime ago, I was shocked by what I saw today. The hillock, previously a part of the extended Parsik Hills range millions of years ago, has been now severely defaced and soon will be razed to ground by the mining and quarrying activities that take place in the region. Having a clear idea about the previous forest cover in the region and how ecologically sensitive this region was, its really sad to see such a beautiful structure of nature being killed slowly like this
